The WMRR Board held its final meeting for 2025 on Thursday 4 December, reviewing the year’s achievements and setting priorities for 2026.
The Board noted that 2025 had been a year of significant progress for WMRR, with strong member satisfaction scores, a record attendance at the ALTS Conference in Perth, and the successful delivery of WMRR’s new Foundations of WARR training program. Financially, the association closed the year in a sound position, with revenue tracking ahead of budget and cost management remaining disciplined.
Key advocacy highlights for the year included WMRR’s engagement with the Productivity Commission’s circular economy inquiry, representations to state governments on waste levy settings, and WMRR’s input into the development of new product stewardship arrangements for batteries and solar panels.
Looking to 2026, the Board endorsed the priorities identified in the updated Strategic Business Plan, including the launch of WMRR’s brand refresh, a new website and CRM platform, the publication of the State of the Nation WARR Report, and the delivery of the ENVIRO Conference in Adelaide. The Board also confirmed the 2026 Member Survey would be conducted in Q1 with an enhanced focus on tracking WMRR’s advocacy effectiveness.
