| Following a highly competitive nomination process and strong member participation in elections held throughout August 2026, the Waste Management and Resource Recovery Association of Australia (WMRR) is delighted to announce its State Branch Presidents and Vice Presidents for the 2026–2028 term.
It was really great to see the interest in this year’s nominations with hundreds of WMRR members casting their votes after a strong field of candidates nominated to help lead the Association’s state-based activities over the next two (2) years.

WMRR CEO Gayle Sloan welcomes the new leadership team and thanks all members who put themselves forward to serve their branches.
“The next generation of State Branch leaders bring together an outstanding mix of industry experience, technical expertise and fresh perspectives from across Australia’s waste and resource recovery sector,” Ms Sloan said.
Under WMRR’s Constitution, State Branch Presidents and Vice Presidents serve two-year terms, with elections held at the conclusion of each term. Office bearers may serve for a maximum of four (4) consecutive years.
The 2026–2028 term will bring significant new leadership across WMRR’s national branch network. Queensland, Victoria, South Australia/Northern Territory and Western Australia will welcome new Presidents, while NSW/ACT, South Australia/Northern Territory and Western Australia will welcome new Vice Presidents.
“The WMRR Board and the WMRR team in national office, are excited to work with our incoming Presidents and Vice Presidents as we develop WMRR’s 2027–2030 Strategic Business Plan and look forward to delivering on these for both the sector and members. This is an important period as we race towards 2030 with lots still to do to meet national material and carbon targets, and our new leadership team brings the experience, energy and insight we need to help drive meaningful reform.”
WMRR extends its gratitude to the outgoing State Leaders who will chair their final State Branch Committee Meetings this month.
