What are the benefits of membership?

What is the difference between membership tiers?
WMRR’s organisational membership tiers offer the same core member benefits, with each tier designed to accommodate different organisation sizes and numbers of representatives. Some additional inclusions vary by tier, while Student membership offers a tailored range of benefits for those entering the industry.

What is the difference between Corporate and Government Membership?
Corporate Membership is designed for businesses and organisations operating within or supporting the waste and resource recovery industry, while Government Membership is available to eligible government organisations. Both provide access to WMRR’s core member benefits, with membership structured to reflect the different types of organisations WMRR represents.
How long does a WMRR membership last?
WMRR memberships run on a calendar-year basis, from 1 January to 31 December. Membership fees are not offered on a pro rata basis, so the full annual fee applies regardless of when you join.
Can I cancel my membership?
WMRR memberships are purchased for the calendar year and are non-refundable once payment has been made. If you do not wish to continue your membership for the following year, you can choose not to renew.
Can my membership be transferred?
Organisational membership representatives may only be transferred where the existing representative has left the organisation. Transfer requests must be submitted to WMRR by email and can only be made by an authorised company admin or manager.
Individual and Student Memberships are linked to the individual member and cannot be transferred.
Are WMRR membership fees pro rata?
No. WMRR membership fees are not offered on a pro rata basis. Membership fees are charged at the full applicable rate, regardless of when you join during the membership period.
How do I renew my membership?
WMRR memberships are renewed annually for the calendar year. Existing members will receive renewal information and instructions from WMRR ahead of the new membership year. If you have any questions about your renewal, please contact the WMRR team.
How do i update my membership details?
You can update your personal details by logging in to your WMRR member account. If you need to update your organisation’s membership details, please contact your company’s admin or WMRR account manager.Â

Can my organisation have multiple members?
Yes. WMRR organisational memberships include a set number of representatives depending on the membership tier. If your organisation requires additional representatives beyond those included, Affiliate Memberships can be added for $400 per person.
My company is a WMRR member. Why can’t I access member benefits?
Your organisation’s WMRR membership includes a set number of nominated representatives based on its membership tier. To access member-only benefits, your individual account must be linked to your organisation’s membership. If you believe you should have access but don’t, please contact your organisation’s membership admin or manager, or contact the WMRR team for assistance.
Do members receive discounted event registration?
Yes. WMRR members receive discounted registration rates for conferences and events, while Working Group activities and webinars are free for members.
Do I need to be a member to attend WMRR events?
No. Many WMRR events and conferences are open to both members and non-members. WMRR members generally receive access to discounted registration rates and also have access to exclusive member-only events and opportunities.
What are WMRR Working Groups?
WMRR Working Groups are member-only groups focused on specific industry topics within each state and territory. They bring together professionals from across the sector to share industry knowledge, discuss current and emerging issues, and identify matters requiring WMRR advocacy and action.
Groups generally meet monthly, providing members with a forum to exchange perspectives, hear from industry peers and contribute to WMRR’s advocacy on the issues affecting their sector.
Members can explore and select the Working Groups available in their state through their member account. WMRR also has National Divisions, which bring members together around key industry areas at a national level.
