WMRR’s Circular Economy Toolkit for Business has been developed to assist small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the waste and resource recovery supply chain to understand and implement circular economy principles in their operations.
The toolkit includes: an introduction to circular economy principles and the waste management hierarchy; self-assessment tools for identifying circularity opportunities in business operations; case studies from Australian WARR sector businesses that have successfully implemented circular approaches; guidance on procurement of recycled content materials; information on relevant product stewardship schemes and how to participate; and a directory of resources and support programs available to businesses.
The toolkit has been developed in partnership with WMRR member companies and draws on international best practice from the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, the European Environment Agency, and OECD research on material productivity.
WMRR encourages all member businesses to use this toolkit as a starting point for their circular economy journey and to share their experiences and case studies with the WMRR community.
