Call for nominations: WMRR National President

Nominations are now open for WMRR’s National President role as the current President, Mr Garth Lamb’s term reaches conclusion, with the constitution’s maximum term of two (2) consecutive two (2)-year terms being reached.

WMRR thanks Garth for his tireless efforts in driving WMRR and the industry forward and his balanced, considered, and intelligent leadership of the Board over the last four (4) years. Garth’s commitment to our essential industry has always been front and centre; he has worked relentlessly for its advancement as well as WMRR’s, graciously committing to being at one stage, NSW Branch President as well as National President.

WMRR continues to go from strength to strength, striving to bring increased value to members though its extensive and ever-growing program of conferences and events, advocacy work, knowledge- and information-sharing, myriad working groups and branch committees, and more.

Over the years, WMRR’s profile has risen and this is due to the efforts of our members, the Board, President, Vice President, and the national office. Today, WMRR has cemented its position as the national peak body for the essential waste management and resource recovery industry, strengthening our partnerships with stakeholders including all levels of government.

WMRR is now calling for eligible candidates to nominate for the significant role of National President.

About the National President

The National President works closely with the CEO to ensure that WMRR maintains positive and productive relationships with our stakeholders and is the Chair of the National Board. Other duties may include liaising with members on appropriate issues and representing WMRR to the media and/or on governmental committees. Nomination process

To apply for this role, you will need to address the WMRR Director eligibility criteria on this form and provide a 200-word summary outlining your key attributes and what you will bring to the role, as well as a current CV.

Only completed forms will be considered by the WMRR nominations committee.

If there is more than one (1) eligible candidate, a membership vote will be held at the end of April 2021, with the successful National President's term commencing at the WMRR AGM on 8 June 2021.
