Veolia Australia and New Zealand becomes fifth WMAA Peak Member

The Waste Management Association of Australia (WMAA) is pleased to announce that Veolia Australia and New Zealand has become the fifth Peak Member of the Board of the national peak industry body for the $15.5 billion waste and resource recovery industry in Australia.

Veolia Australia and New Zealand is a leading provider of environmental solutions across water and wastewater services, industrial cleaning, waste management and resource recovery and energy services, and a world leader in circular economy solutions.

“WMAA has always represented the united breadth and depth of the industry, which has enabled us to demonstrate national leadership on behalf of all of industry in responding to issues such as China’s National Sword and creating a circular economy in Australia,” said Gayle Sloan, CEO of WMAA.

“The continued growth of our membership base is testament to the fact we are delivering real value for the sector, and we are very pleased to welcome Veolia as our newest Peak Member, and Mr Danny Conlon on to the WMAA Board.”

Veolia employs over 4000 people across 150 locations within Australia and New Zealand. Combined with the scope and reach of the other Peak Members - SUEZ, ResourceCo, Cleanaway and Remondis Australia - these organisations represent the full gamut of the industry; including collections, energy from waste, resource recovery, and landfill.
