Simon Kalinowski

CEO, Mandalay Technologies

Simon is the Chief Executive Officer of Mandalay Technologies and has been leading the way in waste technology for over 20 years. Simon has spent more time thinking about bins and landfills than most of us would care to do over a dozen lifetimes. Simon does this because he is passionate about the power of waste data as a key tool to inform better decision making and drive better outcomes when it comes to our communities, the environment, and the economy. Simon believes that accurate and timely waste data is becoming an increasingly essential requirement not only for the successful management of waste facilities but also for transitioning to a more circular way of managing our resources and creating a world without waste.

Mandalay Technologies supports waste operations and waste services for over one-third of the waste collected across Australia. Simon and the team at Mandalay Technologies work closely with local councils and private sector operators spanning many geographical boundaries – from the most high volume and densely populated cities right through to regional facilities servicing many rural and remote communities. They provide leading software and data management systems beyond the weighbridge to support the collection, management, and reporting of waste data as well as for waste levy implementation.
