Director, State Disaster Recovery, Department of Premiere and Cabinet
Georgie Cornish is the Director of State Disaster Recovery at Department of Premier and Cabinet, an area that coordinates and supports communities in their recovery from natural disasters, including the tragic bushfires of 2019/2020. In addition, the team focusses on building capacity and capability within communities and local government to prepare for recovering from future events and building ongoing resilience. Previously Georgie was an Assistant Chief Officer at the Country Fire Service with a focus on preparedness, strategy and policy. Georgie spent over decade working across the spectrum of national security matters within the Commonwealth Government, including community engagement, counter terrorism operations, and policy development.
