VIC EPA Forum: unpacking the new regulations
The WMRR Victorian Branch is hosting a forum on 16 September 2019 at Norton Rose Fulbright in Melbourne to unpack the new VIC EPA regulations that will go on public exhibition shortly.  At the event, attendees will hear from Dr Cathy Wilkinson, Chief Executive Officer at EPA Victoria, as well as Norton Rose Fulbright Partner, Elisa De Wit. Together, they will drill into the draft regulations, discuss the implications for industry, and answer burning questions to assist the sector as we consider a response to, and prepare for, the changes. Implementation of the new regulations is slated to commence on 1 July 2020. Networking drinks will be held after the forum.

Briefing on Queensland Recycling and Waste Discussion Paper
On 20 March 2018, the Queensland Government announced the development of a comprehensive waste management strategy underpinned by a waste disposal levy to increase recycling and recovery and create new jobs. The Queensland Government has released the Transforming Queensland’s Recycling and Waste Industry Discussion Paper. This briefing will be conducted by Adrian Jeffreys from the Queensland Department of Environment and Science. It will be a wonderful opportunity for WMAA Members to collect a fuller understanding of the discussion paper and will assist WMAA in drafting its response.
