Stephanie Salinas

Waste to Energy Manager, Yarra Valley Water

Stephanie is the Waste to Energy Services Manager at Yarra Valley Water, overseeing two food Waste to Energy facilities. With over a decade of experience in waste, resource recovery, and natural resources, she has spent five years supporting Yarra Valley Water’s circular economy goals. Stephanie holds qualifications in biological science and a master’s in Sustainability. Passionate about sustainable business practices, she is committed to improving the environment for future generations.

Miles Mason

Technical Director - Sustainable Waste Management, SLR Consulting

Miles is a civil engineer with over 25 years’ experience in the waste management and resource recovery sector across Australia. 

Miles has been a technical director with SLR since January 2023, and the Sustainable Waste Management team’s leader since Jan 2025. He has been providing technical, commercial and policy advice for a number of large EfW projects as well as thermal and non-thermal technology reviews. In the last 2 years he has undertaken multiple due diligence projects for waste business acquisitions across the hazardous, organics, C&D recycling and landfill sectors as well as CEFC’s Lenders Technical Advisor for the Rino Recycling construction and commissioning works. 

Prior to SLR, Miles was group head of business development for New Energy developing two major large-scale EfW projects in the Perth metropolitan area (East Rockingham Waste to Energy $511m) and regional WA (Pilbara EfW $75m). Prior to joining New Energy, Miles worked for WSN Environmental Solutions and Suez and was involved in a range of roles at major Sydney waste facilities including project management of new cell construction, post closure, leachate and landfill gas infrastructure, contract management of the GRL UR-3R facility at Eastern Creek, as well as landfill operational roles.
