Waste2020 Webinar Series | Keynote Addresses
Despite the current situation, organisers of the annual Coffs Conference feel it is important to keep up-to-date, to keep learning and sharing knowledge, and to be able to access relevant content. With the support of WMRR, they have transitioned a selection of the conference program into a webinar series. The Coffs Waste Conference Webinar Series will run for 14 weeks and each week will showcase a topic area via a 1 hour live webinar.

DR GEOFF BRIGHTY
Managing Director, Environmental Sustainability UK
Innovation, policy and action – The latest UK response to the plastic waste and ‘resource opportunity’
Plastics leakage directly into the world’s oceans, as well as via freshwaters and land-air pathways represents a global system failure for managing plastic. Through recycling this material using circular thinking, we can reduce the consumption of natural resources, saving valuable sources of primary virgin feedstock and protect the environment from wasteful plastic pollution.
The webinar will look at the UK progress to improve its performance on plastic recycling, through a range of measures including support through innovation programmes, progressive policy development, market interventions and target setting, and importantly the business-led UK Plastic Pact.
