The biennial WARRQ – formerly Waste Q – conference is on in 2021, this time at the home of Aussie’s favourite rum, Bundaberg.
The 2021 conference has its eye set on future-proofing waste and resource recovery (WARR) in Queensland, under the theme, “To 2030 and beyond”.
The future looks bright for our essential industry, with settings such as the waste export bans and long-term policy directions at all levels of government in place, backed by significant state and federal funding commitments. So, how can we capture this once-in-a-life time shift and focus on WARR? How can the state meet both its and the national WARR targets and soar to unprecedented levels of growth and success that will secure our long-term viability to 2030 and beyond?
The 2021 WARRQ Conference will delve into state and regional best practice and innovation, current and new policy directions, challenging waste streams and the opportunities they present, and the importance of education in long-term planning.
The conference will also seek to identify current and emerging issues facing metro and regional WARR management and will look to local and national success stories and lessons learnt to solve them.

All conference registrations include access to sessions, catering (morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea), and speaker presentations (post-conference). Package 1 (full registration) includes the 2-day conference, technical tour and entry to both social functions.
Please note:
- Full payment is due at time of registration. For any other form of payment contact WMRR National Office to discuss.
- If the event is unable to go ahead as advertised due to covid-19, all registrants will be eligible for a full refund.
- Cancellations must be notified in writing to WMRR. Cancellations received on or prior to the 8 October 2021 will receive a refund less a $150 administration charge. Refunds WILL NOT be issued for cancellations received after 8 October 2021. Substitutions within organisations are welcome without penalty, however fees will apply for additional package inclusions.
- Cancellations due to government-imposed travel restrictions will receive a full refund.
- Late fees apply to registrations received after 13 October 2021.
- WMRR does not disclose any personal information to third parties without prior consent.
