The first of our 2021 Golf Days will continue the tradition of the Ambrose Competition Format (4 players per team).

Registration: $200 per team 

You will need to include your team name, and list of players when you register - the more creative the better!

Timing

Meet at the Club at midday for a 12:30pm tee off.  The game will run until approximately 5:00pm with presentations and drinks to follow.

Food, drinks & prizes

Food and & drinks will be provided on the day thanks to our sponsors.   

There will be some great prizes up for grabs as well as the customary bragging rights that come with the coveted winner’s trophy for best team score.

Dress code & behaviour

All players must comply with the dress and behaviour requirements of the Westward Ho Golf Club. The dress code includes neat and tidy clothing, including no denim, no runners and a collared shirt. Golf shoes must not have metal spikes. Further details will be provided to registrants prior to the day.

What is Ambrose?

Ambrose golf is played in a team of four, where for each hole:

1. Each player in the team tees off
2. The team chooses the team's best ball
3. All players hit their next shot from the location of the best ball
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until the hole is completed
5. The hole score is the number of strokes of the "best ball"

In essence, it allows players of varying abilities to enjoy the competition, as the team only needs to count the best shot each time.

Local rules on the day will include:

• The team must use a minimum of two tee shots for each player.
• Each player will be allowed one "mulligan" - being able to repeat a shot without penalty.

Equipment hire

If required, equipment can be hired from the Westward Ho Golf Club Pro Shop. This includes pull buggies, motorised carts and golf clubs. The Pro Shop also sells a wide range of equipment. To make an enquiry or booking, please contact the Pro Shop, T: 08 8356 4811.
