Webinar | Repair and reuse through social enterprises
The Waste Management and Resource Recovery Association of Australia invites you to join us online on Tuesday, 14 September 2021 for the final installment of our 'take back Tuesdays' webinar series, to learn about avoidance, repair and reuse through social enterprises.
This session will look at two (2) programs that have had measured success in avoiding waste while strengthening the community.
You’ll hear from Amy Croucher, founder of the Inner West Tool Library, which works to reduce waste and increase opportunities for residents of the Inner West of Sydney and surrounds by providing them with access to a wide variety of equipment that they can borrow instead of buy.
Amanda Henderson, Resource Recovery Australia’s Customer Engagement Coordinator, will present on their Waste to Wages program, which trains and employs the local Aboriginal community to collect and repair recyclable items for their recycling store.

AMY CROUCHER
Founder and Director, Inner West Tool Library
Often described as having infectious energy, Amy is highly motivated to get things done! During the week she works as a Sustainability Advisor for large NSW organisations, and is undertaking a Masters in Environmental Management.
Amy also enjoys volunteering for not for profit projects, including bush care, environmental education, community owned renewables, and with a particular interest in waste prevention through sharing and reuse has recently founded the Inner West Tool Library - Sydney's first tool library.
Having lived in a number of countries and being involved in different fields of work, Amy appreciates the diversity and expertise of all people. She loves connecting with engaged communities and thrives on seeing connections made and the amazing ideas, projects and collaborations that result.

AMANDA HENDERSON
Customer Engagement Coordinator, Resource Recovery Australia
Amanda refers to herself as a social media nerd and is a passionate advocate for positive marketing. As Customer Engagement Coordinator at Resource Recovery Australia, Amanda is responsible for identifying business and community development opportunities and marketing for the vast range of RRA’s waste diversion and reuse shop solutions.
RRA is a not-for-profit, social enterprise built on an innovative "#Waste2Wages" model. RRA works to divert waste from landfill and provide employment and training opportunities for people experiencing barriers to employment. RRA celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. RRA’s targeted programs mean that in FY21 over 169 people were provided employment and training opportunities through RRA's waste management operations across Australia.
