Business Development Manager, New Energy Corporation

Miles Mason is a civil engineer with 20 years’ experience specialising in the waste management, resource and energy recovery industries with background in the water and wastewater industries. Mr Mason has been Business Development Manager for New Energy Corporation for the last 7 years and is responsible for finding and developing national and international opportunities. He has been intimately involved in winning local and offshore tenders, negotiating contracts, community engagement, environmental and development approvals, project management and financial analysis. He chairs the NSW WMMA Resource and Energy Recovery Working Group and serves on the national WMRR RER committee. He has played a key role in industry feedback on the NSW EPA EfW policy settings, the NSW Parliamentary Inquiry into EfW technology as well as other state’s EfW policies. He has been a regular presenter at Waste to Energy conferences in Australia. Prior to NEC, he worked 8 years for the NSW State Government owned WSN Environmental Solutions and SITA Australia (now Suez) in a variety of roles including waste facility operations management, project management, contract management, landfill rehabilitation and contaminated site remediation. He was responsible for the $35 million Eastern Creek Northern Extension landfill cell development project from 2005 – 2009, managed the Global Renewables Eastern Creek AWT Facility contract for WSN from 2010 and was SITA’s Site Manager for the Walgrove Road Eastern Creek Landfill and Resource Recovery Facility during 2011. He has also been involved in several landfill gas to energy infrastructure projects. .
