Landfill Leachate Case Studies

Dr Stuart Dever is Principal Engineer at the Kimbriki Resource Recovery Centre, which is located at Terrey Hills in northern Sydney.  He is also a visiting lecturer (waste management) at the University of New South Wales.  Stuart has more than 25 years’ experience working in the waste management industry and has worked on a wide range of projects encompassing waste management policy and planning; planning, design, construction, operation and monitoring of landfill facilities; facility approvals and licensing; investigation and remediation of old landfill sites; waste minimisation and recycling; waste treatment and energy recovery facilities.  Stuart has particular expertise in landfill leachate and gas management.

Prior to joining Kimbriki Stuart worked as a consultant for more than 20 years and worked on a wide range of projects, for all levels of government and industry, across Australia as well as on projects in Malaysia, Fiji, Samoa and Tonga.

Stuart is a Chartered Professional Engineer and is registered on the National Engineering Register.  His qualifications include a 1st Class Honours Degree in Civil Engineering (University of Technology Sydney, 1989), a Master of Engineering Science in Waste Management (University of NSW, 1993), and a PhD at the University of NSW (2009).
