WA C&D Seminar

WA C&D Seminar
The WA C&D Working Group of the Waste Management and Resource Recovery Association (WMRR) and the National Environmental Law Association (NELA), invite you to join them on Wednesday 7 October 2020 at the QT Perth to discuss the way forward for the construction and demolition waste sector in WA.

There is a strong appetite for increasing the recovery of materials and decreasing waste in Western Australia. Recently the State Government has:

  • run a large program for the receipt of public submissions on the papers ‘Closing the Loop: Waste reforms for a circular economy’ and ‘Review of the waste levy – consultation paper;’
  • planned to introduce the Container Deposit Scheme in October 2020; and
  • published the Waste Avoidance and Resource Recovery Strategy 2030 which outlines the aim to increase the recovery of material in the C&D Sector to 80% by 2030.

With this in mind, the Construction & Demolition industry, a sector which makes up around half of Western Australia’s waste stream, is primed for innovation.

This seminar brings together leading specialists to present their perspectives on the challenges and opportunities for the future uptake of recycled construction and demolition products in Western Australia.
