Victorian Waste & Resource Recovery Forum

The Waste Management and Resource Recovery Association of Australia (WMRR) invites you to join us at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) on Wednesday, 1 May 2024 for the return of our Victorian Waste & Resource Recovery (WARR) Forum.

THE PATH TO 80% BY 2030

Following the success of the inaugural Victorian Waste and Resource Recovery (WARR) Forum in 2023, the event is returning to Melbourne in 2024 to continue the discussion on the opportunities and challenges that lay ahead for the Victorian waste and resource recovery industry on it’s path to achieving targets set out in Recycling Victoria: a new economy.

2023 was a busy year for Victoria - from the extension of the single-use plastics ban to the rollout of the State’s Container Deposit Scheme (CDS), and the planned introduction of a four (4) services system - there’s a lot of activity underway, but what’s next, and will it be enough to hit the targets set out in Recycling Victoria?

The day long forum will bring together all levels of government with local and national industry experts to discuss the current challenges and future opportunities on the path to 80%, as they apply to the Victorian sector.

PROGRAM

We're thrilled to announce that the opening session will feature updates from the heads of all three (3) state government bodies on their priorities for 2024, followed by a panel-style Q&A session where they'll be taking questions from the floor:

  • Lee Miezis - Chief Executive Officer, Environment Protection Authority Victoria
  • Tony Circelli - Head of Recycling Victoria
  • Matt Genever - Chief Executive Officer, Sustainability Victoria

The remainder of the day will be filled with insights from government and industry on hot topics, data, product stewardship, investment and more.
