Manager, Permissioning Projects and Improvements, EPA Victoria


Motla been employed by the EPA as Manager Permissioning (Projects and Improvements) over the past two years.  His roles involves leading a unit of officers whose job is to codify and improve processes, systems, procedure, and guidance to enable applicants and permissioning officers to communicate effectively about their applications and decisions under the Environment Protection Act 2017. The unit also codifies considerations for permissioning assessments, so officers know how to consider other Acts such as Climate Change Act when making decision. 

Motla led the EPA’s review of operating licences and on onboarding resource recovery operating licence and permits into the Environment Protection permissioning framework. Prior to this role, he was a Team Leader in Licensing, a Senior Permissioning Officer and has over 10 years of private sector experience.  Motla holds a Bachelor of Science from the National University of Lesotho, and a Masters in Science from China University of Geosciences.
